Shannon is a mom and government program coordinator. Her roots lie in Los Angeles where she was born and raised. She is a DEIA advocate and is a member of NALS’ nominations and elections committee. She is a cheese connoisseur who loves to travel with her husband and son. They reside in the Bay Area with their cats.

 

TRINH (KATHY) FLYNT
Data Analyst, CALIFORNIA

Trinh Flynt studied accounting and has eight years of experience in analyzing project costs and financial data. She worked at Apple as a Localization QA Tester for three years before shifting towards machine learning and data science for the past two years and earning a Data Science Certificate from the University of California Irvine. She is passionate about helping businesses make informed decisions by drawing insight from data.

Trinh is based in Dublin, CA. She loves the suburban lifestyle here and taking her 3-year-old son to the local parks and playgrounds. She is committed to lifelong learning and also enjoys traveling, classical music, video games and doing yoga.

 

Angel Gardner
Legal Research Analyst

Angel grew up in the Bay Area but currently attends law school in Washington D.C. Currently, She is pursuing a J.D. from American University Washington College of Law and a Masters in Justice, Law, and Criminology from American University School of Public Affairs. She is interested in international criminal law and advocating for victims' rights. Beyond studying, Angel enjoys backpacking for months on end in different countries. Her favorite places are Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, and Peru, but she has traveled to 22 countries so far.

 

VERA GLONINA

Vera is a graduate law student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) residing in Champaign, Illinois. Vera is originally from Moscow (Russia), where she obtained a law degree at Lomonosov Moscow State University and practiced law for about three years. Vera is passionate about traveling, learning foreign languages, and making a difference in the world. She is committed to self-development and eager to take new challenges.

April holds a BS in Business Administration from the University of Missouri-St.Louis and a MBA (Masters in Business Administration) from Purdue University. April has been a Licensed Life, Health, Accident Insurance Agent since the year 2009 and has held several positions in the insurance industry to include Premium Auditor, Sales Producer and Account Management. April envisions a future where every child thrives in a safe and loving environment.

 

YEN HOANG
TALENT RESOURCES DIRECTOR, SINGAPORE

Yen has more than a decade of experience guiding individuals and teams toward their goals, including 10 years as an environmental and public health lawyer and, more recently, as a global employment advisor. She finds her flow in advocating for the underserved. Yen enjoys reading and discussing books, rescuing house plants, and exploring new trails with her family. Yen considers the Bay Area her home.

 

PATRICIA HSING
FORMER EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, ADVISORY BOARD, TEXAS

Patricia has 20+ years of leadership and consulting experience from working with health plans across the U.S..  Most recently, Patricia was an executive for Texas Children’s Health Plan, the first Medicaid health plan in the country established solely for children.  Prior to that, Patricia led various health plan innovation-based initiatives and teams at Accenture, a Global Fortune 500 organization.  Patricia graduated from The University of Texas at Austin.  She lives in Houston with her husband and 2 sons.

 

Irina Kovacevic

Irina holds her Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of International Studies from Deakin University and has extensive experience in the humanitarian development and not-for-profit sectors in Melbourne, Australia, where she resides, as well as overseas. She worked as a paralegal at the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre, where she assisted refugees and asylum seekers with their visas, and has worked for various not-for-profit organizations, including the United Nations Development Programme, where she edited and provided feedback on a wide range of publications. 

 

Hari Machina

Hari is a persuasive leader and visionary, with comprehensive expertise in the design, development, and implementation of innovative business and technology solutions across global and domestic operations.

Hari brings over 25+ years of experience in operations from Pharmaceutical, Medical Devices and Biotech industry, and he holds a PhD in Informatics from Indiana University, Bloomington and a Master’s in Business Administration (Operations Management). Hari is passionate about technology, education and providing equal opportunities.

 

Ashley MacKenzie
Advisory Board Member, Ontario

Ashley joins us from Toronto, Canada, where she is currently studying at the University of Guelph to pursue a Bachelor of Science, Honors in Microbiology and a minor in Neuroscience. While Ashley is passionate about the medical industry, she is also an enthusiast towards women’s rights, and a strong advocate for child and youth safety, protection and empowerment.

 

DIPA MARDEMOOTOO
LEGAL RESEARCH ANALYST, CALIFORNIA

Dipa was born and raised on the beautiful island of Mauritius. She obtained a B.A. in Legal Studies at the University of California, Santa Cruz, where she developed a passion for community centered work and social justice. She has spent time interning for different NGOs and companies tackling the issues of social justice, human rights, and environmental rights. In the Fall of 2021, she enrolled in law school at the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. She hopes to graduate with a concentration in Health Law and Policy with a tracked approach to Health and Social Justice. She is incredibly passionate about human rights and social justice. She hopes to help break down the barriers to the basic human right of quality healthcare that so many minority groups are facing.

 

ANNETTE MEDINA

Annette Medina has more than 15 years of Executive Leadership experience, including ten years in the HCM including as Vice President with ADP and Ceridian; notably Annette has built a reputation for leading top performing teams proven across three industries with the highest gross margin.  

In addition to HCM experience, Annette worked in the Oil Industry in a Corporate Strategy Team for 11 years. She led teams directly in nine (9) countries throughout South East Asia, Latin American and North America for Unocal Oil of California (dba Union 76). 

Annette holds an MBA and BA in Business from University of California, Riverside and Keller Graduate School respectively. 

Annette has built a brand as a people-focused leader with a passion for driving results by cultivating and fostering a highly collaborative team environment. 

Annette is married for 27 years, they have two girls. For fun, Annette loves reading and running, and has completed 6 marathons. She is very dedicated to volunteering in her Church alongside her family. 

 

Claire Moravec

Claire Moravec is a detail-oriented Executive Operations leader with the maturity, business acumen, and experience to influence and communicate at all levels of an organization. Claire has strong investigative and analytical skills, and a demonstrated ability to drive operational excellence through product, people, quality, and innovation standards. 

As a career intelligence professional and founding member of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Social Media Exploitation team, Claire was a leader among her peers at the FBI, driving tactical operations against bad actors weaponizing digital media, social media, as well as virtual and augmented reality technologies through counterpropaganda, mis-, dis-, and malinformation. In 2017 Claire earned the FBI’s Medal of Excellence in recognition of her work supporting the FBI’s National Covert Operations Section. Following government service, Claire served as the Senior Leader overseeing Snapchat’s (NYSE: SNAP) Trust & Safety Operations Team. She is also an Adjunct Professor, teaching Undergraduate courses in criminal psychopathology, and Graduate courses in clinical social work. Claire is a graduate of Columbia University in the City of New York, holding a Master of Science in Clinical Social Work. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminology and a Bachelor of Social Work from Loyola University Chicago. 

 

ANTOINETTE OKONO

Antoinette holds a Professional Certified Marketer designation from the American Marketing Association and boasts 16 years of extensive experience in the marketing field. Throughout her career, Antoinette has honed her skills in various marketing domains such as ABM, email, product, programmatic, SaaS, and social media. Antoinette has been married for nearly 10 years, has a 1 year old daughter, and 2 terrier dogs (Pyke and Junior). She loves to learn new things, connect with people, have deep conversations about abstract ideas, and watch Forensic Files.

 

MARK ROGERS

Mark has his Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in accounting from Baylor University (Waco, TX). He currently works as a Financial Analyst at Corning, Inc. and has experience doing audit work at a public accounting firm. He is also currently pursuing a CPA certification. In the future, Mark would like to become an expert in analytics and finance to help organizations bridge reporting and strategy.

Mark volunteers at his church and has experience with other nonprofits assisting with bookkeeping, event planning, and fundraising.

 

El-Nia Shifa

El-Nia resides in the Bay Area. She graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a degree in Psychology. She currently works as a youth counselor and teacher. During her free time, she enjoys cooking, yoga, and being with her cat.

Mariela is from southern California, currently living in Los Angeles. She enjoys writing, cooking, watching real crime shows, and learning to become a better plant mom. She’s a horror fanatic, and enjoys reading suspense. She graduated from UCSC with a degree in feminist studies. She’s currently enrolled in google courses such as project management, and hopes to work for a corporation that does their part in helping end trafficking.
