This article examines the shortcomings of Ohio’s anti-trafficking legislation and lenient law enforcement and argues that additional victim-focused legislation must be enacted at the state level to prevent human trafficking and to protect victims.Overview of State and Federal Human Trafficking Laws - This document published by the Ohio State Human Trafficking Task Force elaborates statewide and federal human trafficking legislations. It relates legal definition to “human trafficking” and emphasizes that law enforcement does not need to prove that victims under 17 or with mental disabilities were compelled.
